At Silkie Treasures, we raise our chickens with care, compassion, and plenty of love from the very first day. Our goal is to nurture friendly, social birds who enjoy human companionship—just like a beloved cat or dog.

From egg to new home, we focus on creating calm, affectionate chickens that genuinely want to be around people. Even our roosters are gentle, well-socialized, and raised to be kind companions—not aggressive or territorial. You may even notice a little extra crowing—don’t worry, it’s just their way of showing they're happy!

Our Roos'

Our roosters are not only gentle with their hens but also with their human companions. Each one is carefully paired with hens of the same color—blue with blue, splash with splash, white with white, and black with black—to preserve the purity and consistency of their beautiful coloring. This thoughtful pairing helps maintain vibrant, true-to-type Silkie lines across all our flocks.

At Silkie Treasures, we’re committed to quality. Our Silkies feature hallmark traits of the breed, including soft, fluffy plumage, five toes, and distinctive black skin. And yes—they come with the iconic fluffy butts that make them as charming as they are unique!

Our girls

Our hens are some of the most affectionate you'll find—toward both people and their chicks. They have a natural calmness and often "purr" softly to soothe and comfort those around them. When you bring home one of our hens, you can expect the same gentle affection. Just like a cat, they’ll express their happiness through soft, contented sounds, offering comfort and companionship in the sweetest way.

Newborn Silkies are some of the cutest chicks you’ll ever meet—tiny, fluffy, and full of charm. At Silkie Treasures, we care for them with warmth and love from the moment they hatch until the day they join their new family.

We keep our chicks for a minimum of two weeks to ensure they are strong, healthy, and well-adjusted before leaving our care. Not every hatch goes exactly as planned, so we take the time to give each chick the attention it needs to thrive.

Because they’re raised with so much love and handling from day one, don’t be surprised if you hear extra cheeping—they just want to make sure you're still nearby!

Fun and play

At Silkie Treasures, we believe happy chickens are healthy chickens—so we make sure our flocks have plenty of fun and enrichment every day. From splashing in shallow pools to stay cool, to enjoying a variety of treats and high-quality feed, our Silkies live a life full of comfort and care.

While occasional pecking order disputes are natural in any flock, we work hard to minimize conflict and create a peaceful, stress-free environment. Any overly aggressive birds—our so-called “problem children”—are gently removed to ensure the rest of the flock remains safe, relaxed, and thriving.
